Biography

Philipp Vladimirovich Baron (born 20 December 1982) is a Russian actor. He is best known for his television work in Russian police procedurals and crime series, particularly his appearances in Sea Devils 4 (Morskie dyavoly 4, 2010), The Chief (Shef, 2012), and Streets of Broken Lights. Baron was born in St. Petersburg and graduated from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (formerly the Saint Petersburg Theatre Arts Academy) in 2004. On stage, he has performed in productions of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull and The Cherry Orchard, J. B. Priestley’s Dangerous Corner, and Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita. His first screen appearance was as an extra in Aleksandr Sokurov’s Russian Ark (2002), a film notable for its single unbroken shot and a cast of more than 2,000 actors. In 2006 he took a supporting role in the television romance Where Love Lives (Tam, gde zhivyot lyubov...) and appeared in Russia’s first interactive drama series, Alice’s Dreams (Mechty Alisy). His later credits include Dead Souls (2008) and The Vixen (Sterva, 2009). Since 2010, Baron has worked regularly in television series broadcast on the NTV channel, often playing bandits and supporting characters in police and detective dramas. His career reflects a steady presence in Russian genre television rather than leading roles, with a filmography built largely on episodic and supporting work.
